Set on a picturesque 37 acres, the Ravenswood Homestead is a sought after wedding and event venue near Bendigo. It even features boutique accommodation. This destination gives you everything need in one place. In this post you can find a wide range of images taken by myself, as well as some useful information. Let’s see if this might be the perfect spot for your wedding day!
The Homestead
The homestead is a place with history in the heart of Central Victoria. Before the booming gold rush of the late 1800’s, the sheep station ‘Ravenswood Run’ originally expanded over a vast 118,000 acres. Today, this land is known as Bendigo city. Gold was first discovered on the property, which ultimately led to Bendigo becoming one of the richest towns in the world. Immigrants migrated to the district from all over the world to find their fortune. Nowadays, the Ravenswood Homestead is a historic wedding venue with rustic charm, located only 20 minutes from the Bendigo CBD and 90 minutes from Melbourne. It also offers boutique accommodation for up to 35 guests on the premises. A variety of unique rooms and cottages invites guests to reminisce about past centuries, providing a luxury country feel and attention to detail.
The historic Stables with their vintage fittings, raw timber beams and century old handmade bricks make up for one of Victorias most unique heritage venues. They were originally used by the stable hands working the large number of horses used on the property. Now they are catering for 40-150 guests. Furthermore, the Homestead has its own in house chef with excellent pedigree and an incredible palette. They pride themselves on their food and flavours, use of local fresh produce, wines, beers and soft drinks.
